"Do not underestimate him!" Kiten demanded. "He is a strong man with too much power for his own good. He is as much a part of this as you and I. He knows about the spirit animals and masters. He knows what we can do. I don't know why but he wants us all dead. That is why I keep warning you to stay with me."

Kiten sighed deeply then looked up at her. "If you really want to know...it's beacuse he didn't think you were one. He thought, because of your blindness, you were weak. He thought that there was no way you could be a spirit master. Truely, you all need to act like this. It will help you blend in with the rest of society." He kept walking the same way he had been. "But once we get to Vurnel, the games begin."

Thrujai was sick of all of this talking like they were dumb little babies. "Because he is a big selfish dofus who like shiny objects!!" she shouted. Many birds were scared out of hiding, and Uvtriu went to town with her hunting and comaflauge skills.

"We shouldn't be far..." Kiten looked down at Kieshin and nodded. The civet bounded forward, leaving them far behind. He came back a minute later.
"It's right over the hill," he told Kiten.
"Thanks," Kiten said, rubbing the smooth fur on it's head. When they came over the hill top, a large grey mass was visable. The beautiful green grass gave way to ash and dirt as they came closer to Vurnel. Many small buildings were scattered over the dark landscape. As they walked, people looked up to see the new comers. Many waved a hand or smiled at Kiten, who merely nodded in their direction. They reached a beat up apartment building a few minutes later.
Kiten kicked open the rusty hinged door and walked inside. The lights flickered multiple times before coming on completely. Keishin leapt up onto one of the dusty conter tops and Kiten sat on a barstool next to him. "Welcome home."

'Better then what I usually get.' was all Jisan could think about the place. She walked in and sat on top of one of the nearby tables.
"I'm going to go off and hunt a bit. I'll be back soon." Kuuki said.
"Ok." Jisan replied, flipping over on to her back, then on to her stomach. When she did, she felt a sudden searing pain in her neck where the king had scratched her with his knife. She froze for a moment, and waited for the pain to pass. When it did, she felt cold and sweaty.
'Probably nothing...' she told herself, continuing to flip onto her back and stomach.

"What'd he do?" Kiten asked flatly, leaning back into the counter. He picked up a dagger from the behind him and began to slowly run the smooth side down his arm. "Get your neck, did he?"

"What do you mean?" Jisan asked. "If you meant how I kind of acted strange a few seconds ago, I thought a saw a really big spider, but it was just a piece of dust." she laughed. "Kind of funny actually."

"Oh. Whatever." Kiten walked over to a large cabinet and opened it wide. It was empty. "Ow well...seems nothin's left." He sat back down on the stool. "I guess you'll have to find your own food," he smirked.

hrujai had not wanted to voice her opinion about the place, because she really didn't know it that well. It could be home, it ould jail, she didn't care, as long as she had four walls and a roof. Thrujai turned to Jisan and said, "I think we will go for the 'steal the food, lead followers into an alleyway' trick again, huh Jisan?"
